Gutter Lover

Gutter Lover

The super squashed shortboard.

This model is the shortest and fullest of the four small wave boards that have been based on the high performance shortboard. It’s stumpy planshape is combined with rails, deck shape and concave as you’d find on any current shortboard, so that it still feels alive and responsive. The tail area is wide enough to not only give great small wave planing ability, but also to give the freedom to break the fins out in top turns.

  1. HI
I’m an Italian surfer, i usually ride mushy waves in east coast beach breaks, wich measure of Gutter Lover do you recommend ?
    I’m 190cm x 80 kg
    Now I ride a 6’3″ x 19 3/4 x 2 1/2 7s quattro and sometimes when the waves aren’t so good it’s difficult take them ( this is the reason why i would buy a gutter lover).

  2. Hi,
I’m thinking of buying a gutter lover but would like to know what the bottom is ie. full single or single to double concave? I’m 6’4″ 230 lbs and find full single concaves sticky and hard to get going rail to rail.

    Thank you,

    • Hi Chris, well there is no history of single conclaves getting sticky or not going rail to rail quickly so there will be other less obvious elements that will have been the reasons for these qualities. The vast majority of concaves used worldwide are singles as well as most of the top pros. It is a single concave anyway so your call mate.

  3. Hi,

I’m thinking about buying the gutter lover. I weigh around 80 kg and I’m thinking about either the 6″0 or 5″10. I’ll mainly use it for waves in Holland (not very powerful). Also the numbers (table) I’ve seen here differ from your numbers above when it comes to the board size-weight ratio. Which one is the correct one? 🙂

    • Hi Lex, either one is fine. there is no correct one that i can advise from over here in Aust, seeing I don’t know how well you surf. use the retailer as a guide on that. you’re in the right ball park, but go wider if you are less than average skill level or the narrower of the two if you are competent. 4. Where can I purchase The Gutter Lover SLX Tri Quad Surfboard size 6’4″ online?

  5. Hi Greg,

I rode a 5’6 Gutter Lover the past few days in California and I’m stoked on it, great board! Anyway, I’m from NY and wanted to know the easiest way to buy one once I’m back home? Any shops carry them? Online?

  6. Gotcha, I’m looking for a 5’6 SLX, can you point me in the right direction online or is it a lost cause?
